I'm pretty convinced Neal Mohan is behind the current wave of censorship at Youtube

Wojcicki did it with covid; she defined what "misinformation" was and acted accordingly. But people seemed to kind of like her outside of that. Of course the site was in decline for several years

Mohan has legitimately ruined everything

Censorship is certainly a problem.

Key reasons I use the site less than I used to:

* I don't watch animation there anymore for fear the divinatory spyware will mislabel me as a minor.

* I watch less educational content because it is more and more full of AI errors, and so many videos now have fake AI cover pictures instead of real excerpt images that it is difficult to tell which might be worth watching.

The enshittification is hitting hard. That sucks because no other video platform has anywhere near the performance or content archive of YouTube.
